In an era of mass industrialization, Orcival chose a different path: keeping 100% of its production within France. By 1947, Orcival’s exceptional quality earned it the prestigious honor of becoming the official supplier to the French Navy (Marine Nationale). The iconic 21-stripe Breton shirt—originally designed with specific stripe counts to help spot sailors who fell overboard—gradually evolved from a rigid military uniform into a global symbol of casual elegance.
